Agnes H. Pollak, 106, of Irvington, entered into eternal life on December 3, 2022 at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. Born April 2, 1916, in Newark, to the late Eugene and Agnes (Solis) Morris, she attended Lafayette Street School and East Side High School. She married Frank Pollak in 1942; they lived in Newark until 1957, when they moved to Irvington with their young children. Agnes was a skilled homemaker, devoted to caring for her family. After her children were grown, she enjoyed taking bus trips to Atlantic City, where she often had luck with the slot machines.
Agnes was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank; her daughter, Kathleen Stoyko; seven brothers and one sister.
She is the beloved mother of Frank and Tom (Elaine); cherished grandmother of Shayna Sebold (Howard), Amy Stoyko, Bridget Stoyko (Andy Philip), Jim Pollak (Elyse) and Katie Martz (Binh); and loving great grandmother of Ayla and Holden Sebold, and Vivian and Evander Philip. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Union Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 285 Nesbit Terrace, Irvington.
Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Agnes’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
