Alexander Ihor Gerus of Rahway, age 79, passed away on May 29, 2015 in Scotch Plains, NJ. Born in Poland of Ukrainian parents, Yaroslaw and Maria, he later lived in Austria and immigrated to United States in 1952. He was married to Marie Neonila Lewycka in 1960. After graduating from Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT) with a degree in mechanical engineering he worked for local firms before starting his own firm, A-G Associates in 1974. Alexander was a avid skier and soccer player. He also enjoyed nature hikes with his wife. Alexander is survived by his beloved wife, Marie, his dear son Alexander Roman and his wife, Mary Gecha Gerus, loving grandson, Roman Alexander who was named after his great grandfather. Alexander Roman, like his father, also received his mechanical engineering degree from Rutgers University. Alexander's grandson Roman is a student of journalism at Rutgers University. Alexander will be forever loved and missed by his family in the USA and Ukraine
