Alfred Joseph Niemira

Mr. Alfred J. Niemira, a longtime resident of Bloomfield, passed away at his home on February 13, 2015 at the age of 92. Visiting hours are 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday February 16th at Levandoski Funeral Home 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield. Visit levandoskifuneralhome.com for on line condolences and directions. His funeral will begin at 9am at the funeral home on Tuesday morning. His funeral mass will be in St. Valentine Church in Bloomfield at 10am. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery. Al is survived by his wife Helen (nee Karnas). Father of Denise Niemira M.D., John Niemira (his wife Michele), Paul Niemira (his wife Nancy) and David Niemira. Brother of Madelyn Obal and the late Teddy Niemira. Grandfather of Antigone, Edwin "Champ", Cedar, Jan, Jeanine, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Kevin. Great grandfather of Rihanna and Benjamin. Al was a proud WW2 Army veteran. He had worked at Walter Kidde Co. in Belleville many years ago. Past memberships were American Legion Post 448, Joseph Poniatowski Benevolent Assn., Watsessing Seniors Club and a longtime faithful parishioner of St. Valentine Church.
