Amelia Velez

Amelia Velez, 93 of Bloomfield, entered into eternal life on August 2, 2024 at home. Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, on April 1, 1931, she lived most of her life in Newark before moving to Bloomfield 17 years ago. She was a homemaker, devoted to caring for her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Benigno Ramos, her son Rey Ramos & grandson, Bobby Rodriguez.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children; Rosa Rodriguez & Carlos Ramos, her grandchildren; George (Pookie) Rodriguez, Jahida Ramos, Carlos Ramos, Louis Ramos, Jessica Ramos & Waleska Ramos. She is also the proud great grandmother of 15 great grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ. (Ample additional parking can be found on Bay Ave & Broughton Ave).

The burial will take place on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Fairmount Cemetery, 620 Central Avenue, Newark, NJ. There will be no visitation or service at the Funeral Home on Friday morning. Please meet directly at the cemetery.
