Anna Chimienti (Racanelli), 85, of Union, quietly departed from her earthly life on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. Anna was born in Sammichele di Bari, Italy to Michael and Vita Racanelli. After emigrating from Italy, she lived in the USA (New Jersey). She was employed as a collections department clerk and raised her children and grandchildren in Union. She spent the last 64 years of her life as a resident of Union. Anna served as a member of St. Michael’s Church in Union. Because of her deep faith, Anna attended Mass daily at St. Michael’s Church. She professed her faith in Mary, Mother of God, and Jesus Christ at an early age due to her strong loyalty to her hometown in Italy. She taught her family the importance of religion by praying before each meal. Anna’s presence will be greatly missed. Anna truly celebrated life to the fullest by finding happiness in simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, and dedicating time to her nephews and nieces. She loved reading the Bible, gardening, cooking, homemade meals, and food shopping. Her famous dishes included marinara gravy on fried eggplants, chicken parmigiana, and Italian holiday cookies. Her Catholic life was as beautiful as the sweet flowers that she planted. Above all, Anna’s influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She devoted much of her time, patience, and energy as a caregiver to family members. Anna’s special gifts of charm, compassion and a friendly smile enlightened any given moment. Anna is survived by her beloved husband, Vito Antonio Chimienti, of 65 wonderful years. She predeceased her son, Frank Chimienti, by only four days. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rose Eodice-Chimienti; Her daughter, Carmella Bacino and her husband, Maurizio Bacino of Union; her granddaughter, AnnMarie Bacino-Veman and her husband, Alexander Veman; her granddaughter, Christina Bacino; her granddaughter, Laura Bacino; her grandson, Michael Chimienti; her sister, Angela Sabarese and her husband, Richie Sabarese of Springfield; her brother Frank Racanelli and his wife, Maria Racanelli of Stafford Township; her brother, Jack Racanelli and his wife, Wendy Racanelli of Long Hill; her brother, Joe Racanelli and his wife, Susan Racanelli of Pocono Summit, PA. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 10, 2021, from 6 to 8 pm at the Union Funeral Home, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave, Union, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael’s Church, Union, will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 10:15 am. To send condolences, visit www.unionfuneralhome.com.
