Anna Obsharsky

Anna Obsharsky, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012, at Berkley Meadows Care Center. She was 89 years old. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church 719 Sanford Ave., Newark, NJ on Wednesday, July 10, at 9:30 am. Interment is in Saint Teresa Avila Cemetery in Summit N.J. Visitation will be held at The Union Funeral Home, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, N.J. On Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mrs. Obsharsky was born in New York City, N.Y. and lived in South Orange for more than 57 years before living with her daughter and son in law in New Providence, N.J. A wife, mother and homemaker for most of her life she was also a bookkeeper for Village Super Market, Inc in Springfield from 1969 to 1987. Mrs. Obsharsky was the beloved wife of the late John Obsharsky; loving mother of Kathryn Caruso and her husband Jay; Helen Sutton; Irene Wolski and her late husband Edmund Wolski; dear sister of Walter Melnyk and the late Daniel Melnyk, Olga Oshetsky and Mary Melnyk; loving grandmother of Victoria Wolski, Christopher Wolski and Stephanie Sutton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Atlantic Hospice, 465 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960 in memory of Anna Obsharsky.
