Anna Twardowsky

Anna Twardowsky, born April 5th, 1931 in Kalush, Ukraine passed away peacefully on April 8th 2023, in her home with her family by her side. She lived in Landeck, Austria, prior to emigrating to the United States. Here, she lived in Newark, NJ where she met and married Emilian Twardowsky in 1958. Thereafter, she lived in Union Township for many years before moving to Parsippany in 2009. Anna retired as a seamstress and was an active member of the Ukrainian community. She was a long-time Secretary of Branch 214 of the Ukrainian National Association (UNA). She was also President of Branch 86 of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA-"Soyuz Ukrainok").

Anna was gentle, kind-hearted, and loved flowers. In her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, watching movies, crossword puzzles, tending to her houseplants and laughing at the Sunday comics, but above all, spending time with her family brought her the most joy. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Matviy and Maria Czolij, her beloved husband, Emilian, and son-in-law Bill Vincent. She is survived by her daughter, Daria Twardowsky-Vincent & her son, Yaroslaw "Jerry" Twardowsky.

Visitation will be held at St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 60 N. Jefferson Road, Whippany, NJ on Friday, April 14, 2023, between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Mausoleum Entombment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's memory can be made to the Orphan's Fund Project of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America ( www.unwla.org ).
