Anne Bienvenue (affectionately known as "Ma Tante Anne" to all) was born on February 24th, 1925 in Port au Prince, Haiti, to the late Marie Hypolite and Jonel Bienvenue. Anne departed the earthly realm peacefully on Monday, September 25th at her family home in Vauxhall, New Jersey. Anne was born in Vieux Bourg dAquin. She was the fifth of six children, Sylvia, Imene, Secia, Ivane and Luckner, all of whom predeceased her. At age 8, she moved from her countryside home of Aquin to Port Au Prince, where she lived with the Delisfort family until her adult years. Throughout her youth, she learned and developed a great love for dressmaking and became very skilled at embroidery. She emigrated to Brooklyn, New York, where she became a factory worker and a member of the AFLCIO Labor Union. After retiring in 1991, Anne moved to New Jersey to be closer to her family. In her spare time, Anne enjoyed listening to music and cooking. Among her favorite foods were: Guinea Hen, Legume, Black beans (Poi noir), Sweet potatoe pudding (Pain patate). She was an advocate of natural and organic foods and beverages. Overtime, she developed a wide knowledge of herbal remedies and tonics. Anne is survived by her nieces and nephews: Mimose, Brunel, Simone, Yanick, Carl, Fred Raymond-Michelet, Jacqueline, Wrisly, Gladys and Jean-Robert; Numerous grand nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends, including Emile Damise and Mercella Stinvil and family; Guy, Carlos, Gerald, Serge Delisfort and family and the Brea family.
