Antoinette M. Perriello, (nee: Russoniello) of Newark, entered into eternal rest on May 22, 2020 at her home. She was 100 years old. Born March 14, 1920 in Sant’Andrea Di Conza, Italy she was the only child of Gennaro & Teresa Russoniello. She arrived in the U.S at the age of 7 and settled in East Orange where she was educated in the public school system. She graduated East Orange High School in 1938 with a Business background. Her graduating class motto was “Don’t let it bother you” she carried this phrase out most of her life. She worked as a seamstress for several years and attended Berkley Business School. In 1948, she married Anthony “Tony” Perriello. They settled in Newark and raised three children. For many years, Antoinette worked as a bookkeeper/receptionist for the family owned Oil Business. Antoinette loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a sweet, caring & generous person. She had a kind heart and was always willing to help others. To know her was to love her. She was young at heart with an upbeat personality. Her beautiful smile & contagious laugh would resonate with everyone. She had an abundance of love for the Lord & carried it throughout her life. She was an avid reader & loved to read the Bible and other faith based literature. Her other pastimes were cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting, word puzzles, playing BINGO, day trips to Atlantic City, listening to music & rooting for the New York Yankees. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tony. She is the cherished mother of Donald Perriello, Marie Perriello & Anthony Perriello & his wife Sharon, beloved grandmother of Tony & his wife Olivia. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and close family friends. Visitation will be held privately on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Orange, NJ. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Arthritis Foundation.
