Aurora "Loly" Irizarry

Aurora “Loly” Irizarry (Morales-Estrella), 92 years of age passed away peacefully on November 2, 2022 at Cranford Nursing Home & Rehabilitation surrounded by her family. She was born on May 21, 1930, in San Sebastian, PR. She worked as a seamstress before migrating to New Jersey in 1956. She continued to work as a seamstress until she owned her own bodega in Newark in the early 1960s. A lifelong resident of Newark, NJ before moving to Cranford Rehabilitation and Nursing Home.

Beloved Daughter of the late Antonio Morales and Clotilde Morales Estrella.

Beloved Mother to Carmen Morera and husband Jose. She was predeceased by her daughter Irma Abril and her son Manuel “Cano” Abril.

Grandmother to Arlene Sanchez and husband Raymond; Herminio Gerena, Jr., and wife Carolina; Luis “ChiChi” Jimenez, Melissa DeArmas and husband David.

Great Grandmother to Jorge, Radames, Jonathan and wife Cathy; Natalie and wife Vicky; Joshua; Erik, Luis; Mariah Mannuzza and husband Mark; David, Jr. and Julian.

Great-Great Grandmother to Cassidy, Cameron, Caleb, Mateo and Meadow Aurora.

She is survived by her brother Luis Morales and wife Myrna; her sisters, Maria Olmo, Sara Morales, Elba Portee, Naida Dangelis and a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends that became family.

A life well lived while helping many along her life’s journey. She was loved and cherished by many and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Union Funeral Home.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday morning at 9:45 am.  A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, Union with burial to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
