Barbara E Scurko

Barbara E Scurko (nee Laskowski) age 79 of Denville died on Saturday April 25, 2015 at the home of her daughter Laura Scurko. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 9:00am from the Laskowski Funeral Home (Union Funeral Home) 1600 Stuyvesant Ave Union NJ, followed by a mass at 10:00am at St Stanislaus Catholic Church, Newark and burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Born in Newark, NJ Barbara lived in Irvington for 42 years and the last 17 years in Denville. A graduate of St Michael's Hospital Nursing School, Barbara was a Registered Nurse for Irvington General Hospital for 35 years , she also assisted in her family's business The Laskowski Funeral Home. Barbara was a member and past President of The Rosary Altar Society of Immaculate Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood. She was also a member of PWA Gr 595 of Newark, Polish Falcons Nest 17a, St. Michael's Hospital Nursing Alumni and a Trustee of St Stanislaus Catholic Church. Barbara was the consummate nurse, caring and compassionate. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Beloved wife of the late Stephen, Barbara is survived by her loving children Laura Scurko and her husband John Egerter, Nancy Murphy and her husband John, Paul Scurko and his girlfriend Jasmine Fontaine and Raymond Scurko and his fianc, Angela Baldassarre, her dear grandchildren Leah, John, and Stephen Murphy, and Madeleine, Jacqueline and Aubrey Egerter, and her sister Regina Cuber.
