Barbara Kossakowski

Barbara Kossakowski, 81 of Plainsboro, formerly Newark, entered into eternal life on October 9, 2022 at Merwick Care Center.  Born in Newark to the late Herbert Mertz & Sophie Smycka, she lived most of her life in Newark.   She was a retired executive secretary for the State of New Jersey's Criminal Justice Division.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John (2020), her children; Karen Stover & Stephen Kossakowski.

She is survived by her son, Robert Kossakowski & her brother, Thomas Mertz.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaw RC Church, 146 Irvine Turner Blvd., Newark, NJ.   Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
