Barbara Macarthy passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the age of 61.
She is survived by two children, siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, and devoted friends.
In St. Paul’s letter to the Philippians he writes, “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who…emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” (Phil. 3:5-9). Barbara dedicated her entire life to emulating Christ by selflessly serving others. She dedicated over 35 years of her life to careers centered around helping others, first as a Catholic School teacher in New York for 11 years, then as a probation officer for the Superior Court of NJ for another 25 years.
Barbara was immensely devoted to works of mercy, both corporal and spiritual. She counseled family, friends, and strangers alike, religiously gave to various charities, and prayed fervently for both the living and the dead.
Barbara was a true warrior. She embodied a level of strength and courage that was truly unmatched. One that her children greatly admired and made them feel incredibly safe. No challenge was too great for her because she fought every battle with God.
She leaves behind a great legacy that will be carried on by those who loved her.
