Basil Ramon Smith was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 16, 1951 to parents Nolan Smith and Rosita Knight.
Basil was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army and fought in Vietnam War. If you knew Basil, you have seen something he owned that said "Vietnam Veteran".
Basil worked for RCA records for nearly 20 years. He loved his job and the people he worked with. His made lifelong friends there, friends he loved dearly. One of his saddest days was the last day at RCA when he wouldn't see them daily.
He ended his career working for the Post Office. He enjoyed his co-workers and the challenge of the position. He spoke fondly of the people there. If you worked with Basil I know he made you smile.
There is not enough room to describe Basil and his impact to the lives of those who knew him. He loved women and had a way of making them feel like they were the only one in the world. He was charming and charismatic, with a smile that lit up the room.
He was a loyal friend who loved the best he could. He was the life of the party. If there was no party, his presence would create one. Basil was so full of life, that it is hard to accept that he is no longer here.
Basil was predeceased by his father Nolan Smith, his mother Rosita Perry, and his brother Gregory Smith. He is survived by his sister Sabrina Davis, his sister-in-law Terese Smith; his son Ramon Tripp; his nephews D'Artagnan Smith, Avante' Davis and Naseem Davis; his nieces Yosaun Smith, Tikoya Smith, Ja'de Davis and Paris Davis. Basil was well loved and will leave to mourn many family members and countless friends.
Cremation was held privately.
