Bernard M. Shaffer
April 22, 1941 — November 2, 2009
Bernie is survived by his beloved wife Irene nee Hawryluk, his brother, Steven Shaffer, sister Edith Shaffer Jazmin and her late husband Cris and nephews, Cris and Scott Jazmin. He was predeceased by his devoted mother, Ida Stetner Shaffer. Prior to moving to Manasquan, Bernie lived in Branchburg for 34 years, serving on the Township Committee from 1991 to 1996 and as Mayor in 1995. He also was on the Planning Board from 1983 to 1986. Bernie also served on the Branchburg and Bradley Gardens Resque Squads. In lieu of flowers, donations to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hosp, 1275 York Ave, NYC, NY would be appreciated.
