Bohdan Chudio, M.D. died Sunday, July 12 in Stratford Manor in West Orange. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, July 17 at 8:30AM from the Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn & Lytwyn, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave, Union (unionfuneralhome.com) then to St John's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Newark for a Funeral Service at 9:30AM. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Thursday with Parastas at 7:30PM. Born in Vilshanica, Western Ukraine, Dr Chudio and his family were forced to emigrate to Poland in 1947 where he graduated from the Academy of Medicine in Wroclaw, He practiced medicine in Poland until 1966 when he immigrated to the US. After completing his residency at the Hospital Center at Orange, Dr Chudio was a general surgeon at St Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, Orange Memorial Hospital in Orange and Irvington General Hospital in Irvington. Dr Chudio is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and a sister and brother.
