Catherine Louise Gavigan

Catherine Louise Gavigan, 90 of Bloomfield, entered into rest on October 14, 2022 at her daughter residence.   Born in New York City on April 1, 1932 to the late William P. Gavigan & Frances Murphy, she lived for many years in Montclair as a resident of the First Montclair Senior House.

Catherine enjoyed the simple things in life.   She loved to find a good deal and bargain at a Garage Sale, enjoyed a good meal, a couple trips to the Bahamas and Puerto Rico and of course annual trips to New York City to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and Ice Rink.   She also found great importance in seeing the good in life and understand how blessed you were to have what you have when others are not so fortunate.

She is survived by her loving daughter Maria Gavigan, her two cherished granddaughters, Sarah & Emily Brodowski, her brother, Thomas Gavigan and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by 15 sisters and brothers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.   A Catholic Prayer Service will take place during the visitation.   Cremation will be held privately.
