Cathy G Parochniack

Cathy G. Parochniack -- 11/18/55 to 6/1/17 Late of Stewartsville, NJ, Cathy was born in Newark to Benjamin Parochniack and Lydia (Champion) Parochniack, Cathy attended St. Paul's School in Irvington, NJ, and graduated from Union High School, Union, NJ. Cathy graduated from Kean College, and then received a nursing degree from Bloomfield College, and a Master's degree from Kean University. Cathy was employed as a registered nurse by the New Jersey Veterans Healthcare for over three decades. Cathy was a superior staff member, and was known to be kind, unflappable and consistent with the veterans in her care and the many admiring coworkers she encountered over the years. Cathy loved the arts, particularly photography, music and humor. She was a model of how to combine passions with your clinical practice. She was proud to serve on the Healing Arts Committee, the Native American Council, and facilitated numerous humor groups. Some of our fondest, lasting memories of Cathy are her many colorful uniform tops, joyfully jamming on the guitar with veterans, wearing a red nose while conducting her humor groups, and celebrating every occasion from Pirates Day to Pittsburgh Steelers games. She will be forever in our hearts. Her gentle and loving spirit will be dearly missed by her family, many friends, and coworkers. May she run free with her beloved wolves.
