Charles J. Newberry

Charles J. Newberry, 68 of Bloomfield, entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2023 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. Born July 20, 1954 in Altoona, PA to the late Robert & Rosemary (nee:Liska), he lived most of his life in Bloomfield. He was a retired Warehouse Supervisor for Fidelity Paper in Roseland for 25 years.

Chucker, as he was often referred to as, enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Occasional fishing trips, classic cars and riding his Harley, watching classic movies and TV shows, the Rifleman being one of his favorites. Above all this though was his love of spending time with his family (and his dogs). He was a kind and gentle person, never raised his voice and always a genuine care for others.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Nugent, his children, Alexandria Thompson & Anthony Hackett, Jr., his siblings, Edward & William Newberry and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ. Cremation will take place privately.
