Christina R Holubec

April 14, 1933 — September 8, 2016

Christina R. Holubec died peacefully at her home in Cranford, NJ on Thursday September 8. Born in Stanyslaviv, Ukraine to Mykola and Constantina (Posatsky) Shlemkewych, Christina came to the United States in 1948, settling in Elizabeth, NJ. She lived in Chicago, IL before returning to New Jersey and living the last 21 years in Cranford. Christina was an account manager for the Prudential Insurance Company before retiring in 1992 and, until recently, worked part-time at the Cranford Public Library. She was a member of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America (UNWLA), and enjoyed sports, the outdoors, reading, and keeping up on current events. Christina is survived by her children Diana Holubec-McArthur (and husband Richard) and Ulana Holubec-Vermilya (and husband Eric); her grandchildren Natalia and Krysta; her great-grandchildren Milo and Cadence; her sister Marta Sawycky; and other family and friends.
