Christopher John Glancy passed away on December 28, 2021 at the age of 58. He was born on November 11, 1963 in Red Bank, New Jersey to Elizabeth (Nollaig) Fox Glancy, born in Ballylough, County Cork, Ireland and John Joseph Glancy, born in New York, New York. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Theater, studied acting with Maggie Flanigan at William Esper Studio in NY, and in 1995 graduated from NYU Law School. Most of his career was spent working as an intellectual property attorney at White & Case in NY, but he also worked as an actor and a clown at Great Adventure earlier in his life. Chris loved the Yankees, Rangers, Giants, Shakespeare, theater, music, American history, good writing, and the law. His hobbies included genealogy research and he left his family the invaluable gift of a full family tree on Ancestry. He was known for his great sense of humor and kind soul. He is survived by son Benjamin Glancy and daughter-in-law Tara Glancy; son William Glancy, and ex-wife Deborah Maclean. There will be a memorial service on April 2 at 12:00 noon at The Commonwealth Club, 26 Northview Ave., Upper Montclair, NJ. Light refreshments will follow the service. The family requests that all guests be vaccinated and boosted. The family has set up a memorial fund for anyone who would like to donate to Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts in Chris's name. They chose this group because Chris did pro bono work for them and served on the Board. This also combines his two big interests: law and the arts.
