Clement Marieth Daly, 89, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2024 at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ.
Clem was born October 25, 1934 in Newark, NJ and was a long time resident of Maplewood and Highland Lakes, NJ before moving to Springfield in 2021.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marusia (Shumeyko) Daly; the father of Christine (Daly) Peters (deceased) and his son in law Ken Peters and daughter in law, Melanie Fazio; grandfather to Kurtis Peters and his wife, Patti Peters and Ashley (Peters) Gibson and her husband, Alex Gibson.
Clem served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He was very active over the years at St. John’s Ukrainian Church in Newark and was a member of the Holy Name Society as well as the Catholic War Veterans, St. John’s Ukrainian Post 227. Clem was also a Third Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Parastas Service at 6:30 p.m.) at Union Funeral Home – Lytwyn & Grillo, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ.
Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ukrainian Church, 719 Sanford Ave., Newark, NJ. followed by interment at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.
Clem was a person who loved talking to people and was always ready to stop and chat anytime. He was one of the good guys and will be missed by those who knew him.
