Dave Chadwick

Dave Chadwick of Basking Ridge NJ died on January 31, 2022 from complications of Covid-19. Dave was born in Newark NJ and grew up in Irvington before settling in Basking Ridge. Dave was a proud Irvington Firefighter for 25 years. He was inducted July 2, 1984 at just 19 years of age and served until his retirement on August 1, 2009. He volunteered with the Irvington Fire Department Relief Association for many years until his death. Dave is survived by his mother Carol Chadwick of Waterford ON, Canada; his sister Stacy Capra and brother in law Wally Capra of Fairfield NJ and their children Nino, Rachel, and Melissa; his sister Cathy Chadwick and her partner Vito Oriente of Caledonia ON, Canada and Cathy’s daughter Elysse; his sister Patty Chadwick Jones and brother in law Bob Jones of Walnut Creek CA; his niece Tiffany Oberbaur of Germany; his brother in law Sal Ciccone of East Hanover NJ; his long time best friend Walter Zagibaylo and his wife Belinda, several Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins, and also his grand nieces and grand nephews, who he called his grandchildren. And last but not least, his beloved cat Maggie, who is no ordinary cat. He was pre-deceased by his father Dave Chadwick, brother Stephen Chadwick, nephew Anthony, and the anonymous organ donor who gave him the gift of life by way of a lung transplant, in 2019. A service with Honor Guard will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 2pm - 5pm at Union Funeral Home, 1600 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union NJ. Cremation will be private.
