Donald G. Sweetman, Jr. unexpectedly passed away on Saturday night, June 4th, 2022. Don was born on June 11th, 1958 in Passaic, and was raised in Lyndhurst. Don had been a resident of Nutley for the past 31 years. Don received a BA from Rutgers University and a JD from the Seton Hall University School of Law. Don married his wife, Michele Sweetman (née Bocchini), in 1987 and together they raised two sons, Gregory and Michael. Since 2003, Don had been a partner at Gennet, Kallmann, Antin, Sweetman & Nichols, P.C. in Parsippany. Don was a kind and gentle man who was a beloved and engaged member of his community: a man for others who always went out of his way to help those in need; a lifelong learner who was on a first-name basis at the Nutley Public Library; a man with a great sense of humor who loved making people laugh. Don was a committed husband, father, and friend who took an interest in the interests of others and was always ready to be an active participant. Don loved hearing from his friends and family and always had time for a phone call (but not a FaceTime). He took great pride in the success of those around him. Don’s greatest love was his family (including his dog, Hank). Don loved trips down the shore where he was known for taking naps on the beach (and occasionally at the grill), going on bike rides with his wife and playing golf with his sons. Don is survived by his wife of 34 years, Michele; his sons, Gregory and Michael; his sisters, Dorothy Jury, Barbara Martin, and Grace Galasso; and his many nieces and nephews.
