Edward L Bzdek, 91, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, April 13th, 2019. The family will receive relatives and guests on Tuesday, April 16th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Ave, Bloomfield. The Funeral will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 17th at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am at St Valentine's Church, 125 N Spring St, Bloomfield followed by the burial at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield. Ed is survived by his daughters Teresa Bzdek, Anna-Marie O'Rourke, her husband Michael, and his grandchildren, Erica and Grace. Born in Bloomfield and a graduate of Bloomfield High School Class of 1945, Ed served in the Army toward the end of WW2 then landed a job at ITT as an Electrical Engineer where he was employed for 42 years earning him a spot in the ITT Quarter Century Club. After traveling the world with ITT Ed returned to Bloomfield to raise his family. Ed was an active member of St Valentines Parish. He was also a member of the Joseph Poniatowski Beneficial Association and the PNA-ZNP. Additionally he was a charter member of American Legion Post 448. Ed had a kind and generous heart. He enjoyed helping his family: picking his grand-daughters up from school, cooking meals for their family, and being the handyman for his late mother and sister.
