Elisabeth B. Paluk, 91, of Mountainside, N.J. passed away on Sept. 16, 2016. Elisabeth was born in Germany to Hedwig and Josef Hoppe. She married Alex Paluk in Germany before coming to the United States in 1954. They initially lived in Newark, N.J. and then resided in Irvington for 20 years. They finally settled in Mountainside and lived there since 1980. Elisabeth was an active member of the Schwaebischer Saengerbund of Clark, N.J. for over 30 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir and marched in the Steuben Day Parades until she was 90 years old. Upon her retirement at Torelco, Inc. in Irvington, Elisabeth became an active member of the Mountainside Active Retirees and also the Foothill Club. "Oma's" pride and joy was her family whom she loved to cook and bake for and spend time with. She enjoyed taking care of her big garden filled with lots of flowers and vegetables. Elisabeth also liked to sit on her back porch and watch all the birds that lived in her garden. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex Paluk. She is survived by her daughters, Hilda Paluk, Rose Caspar and her husband Bill Caspar, her 3 loving grandsons, Tyler, Troy and Brett and many nephews and nieces.
