Life reflections of Elizabeth Heyward Elizabeth Beatrice (Betty) Heyward was born on September 27, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Van Buren Simmons and Elizabeth Greene. After their demise, she was raised by her grandmother, the late Mamie Greene. Elizabeth accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal savior at an early age and was raised in a Christian home. She attended the Bayonne School System and was a graduate of Bayonne High School; she also attended Berkeley Business School in New York City. On June of 1960, she married Henry Mainor from Jersey City, NJ, from this union three children were born, Henry V. Mainor, Medea Mainor and Gerard A. Mainor. Elizabeth was a dedicated and loving mother and wife, who protected her family daily. In her professional life, Elizabeth worked at various jobs, to take care of her family, to name a few, AT&T, Post Office, First Jersey & Swift line. After the death of her first husband, Elizabeth took care of her kids as a single mother for a few years, until she met Joseph Heyward, her second husband. From that marriage, Joseph had three children of his own, Jenerou, Fernando, and Rhenata, together they were affectionately known as the "the Brady Bunch" who later shared a life in Florida. Elizabeth enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved having a great time with her family and friends and often gave advice to them. Although her outward appearance was flawless, it was her kind heart that shined through. Elizabeth was also an international traveler, who enjoyed seeing different parts of the world, such as Africa, Sudan and Tahiti to name a few. On September 6, 2017, Elizabeth peacefully surrendered her earthly life from congestive heart failure. Her physical body is now at rest and her spirit is alive in the loving hands of her heavenly father. Elizabeth was a one of a kind person, who will truly be missed by her loved ones and friends. Elizabeth is preceded by her sons, Henry V. Mainor, Gerard A. Mainor, her grandson Muhammad Abdul-Majid. She is survived by her only living child, Medea Johnson from Charlotte, North Carolina, her brother Stanley Simmons, from Jersey City, NJ, Great Aunt Reverend Hazel Hill. Grandkids: Kareem Mainor, Jamal Mainor, Khaleel & Khadija Mainor, Ayesha Bradley, Isa Abdul-Majid. Great grandchildren: Emyjze Mainor, Kariem Jehod Mainor, Isaiah Mainor, Safi Smith, Sany Smith, Muhammad Abdul Majid II, Naveah Abdul Majid, Yumon Abdul Majid, Naomi Bradley, Aiden Marcus Aloni & Nathaniel Marcus. Cousins: Roberta Lane (Richard), Claire Harris, Diane Florence, Beverly Williams (Jimmy), Barry (Linda), Claude (Linda), Kevin, Kathleen, Richard Jr., Ingrid, Heather, Jarrett, Kaila, Leah, Kyle, JuJuan, Clarence, Anthony and a host of other relatives and special/sister friend Jeanette aka (Che).
