Elvia Rosa Garibaldi, 78 of Newark, entered peacefully into eternal rest on July 4, 2021 at Alaris Health, Cedar Grove. Born September 11 1942 in Colon, Panama, Elvia's early education was in the Catholic school at San Vicente de Paul and then after in the public schools Porfirio Melendez and then she started at Colegio Abel Bravo. She also took courses cosmetology, becoming a beautician and worked at one time doing nails, hair and makeup in Colon, Panamá. She had a strong work ethic and would always help her parents financially. Elvia migrated to Brooklyn, NY in July of 1970. Elvia was a hard worker. She did some odd jobs and then she worked at an agency as an administrative assistant for many years. Elvia worked with (NYCHA) New York City Housing Authority assisting the senior citizen with decent living environment. Elvia was a very caring and giving individual. When it comes to her family she was selfless. She loved her family. Elvia always looked nice, always looked good from her head to her feet. Her hair and makeup was always neat and she was a sharp dresser. She will be missed dearly by all. Elvia Rosa Garibaldi was the second child of the late Andrés and Rosa Burrell-Garibaldi and is preceded in death also by brothers Jorge and Andrés Jr Garibaldi, two sisters Judith Mc Fadden-Garibaldi and Sonia C. Garibaldi. She leaves behind to mourn her brother, Rodolfo Garibaldi and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Catholic Prayer Service will take place during visitation. Cremation will be held privately.
