Emma E Mulligan

Emma E. Mulligan, 84 of Bloomfield, entered into eternal rest on December 3rd. Born in Newark, she lived in Irvington and Nutley before moving to Bloomfield 35 years ago. She was a retired employee for Bell Telephone of Newark where she ran the store room for the cafeteria for 48 years. Emma was a very independent woman, enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City and accepted people for the way there were. An excellent cook, her Eggplant Parmigiana was legendary, requiring a waiting list if you wanted a dish. She was a former member of Watchung Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Mulligan and siblings, Nora Smith and Ella Mulligan. She is survived by her children; Debra Torrini (Victor "Vic"), Frank Serio (Norma) & Michael Serio, her siblings, Erna Allen, Marie, Edwin & Arthur Mager, her grandchildren; Karee Holt (Chris), Richard O'Connor (Brigitte), Jason & Jonathan O'Connor as well as many nieces and nephews who considered her a second Mother. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Bloomfield Animal Shelter.
