Emma Louise (Ingraham) Czarnecki, 95, of Brandywine Living in Colts Neck, NJ entered into eternal rest on December 5, 2023. She was born on September 24, 1928 in Bangor, ME and grew up in Concord, NH before moving to Bloomfield, NJ to raise her family.
Emma-Lou received a BA in English from the University of Maine in 1951 and a MLS from Columbia University. After graduating, she worked at the Montclair Public Library and the West Orange Public Library for many years.
Emma-Lou was an active member of Church of the Advent, Bloomfield and then at St. James Episcopal Church, Upper Montclair, serving on the vestry. Retirement allowed more time for travel to her second home on Hilton Head Island, SC with family and friends.
Never one to sit still, she was an active member of Bloomfield Branch of AAUW serving as president of the association in 1980 and worked tirelessly on their annual charity book sale. She was very passionate about singing with Chorus of Communities. She was also a member of the Bloomfield Historical Society and enjoyed working in her gardens.
Emma-Lou was preceded in death by her parents Dwight Marden Ingraham and Edith (Sewall) Ingraham and her beloved husband, Herman Czarnecki, Jr. She is survived by a son, Carl Thomas Czarnecki (Cornelia) of Bloomfield, NJ; a daughter, Janet Louise Jasinski (Nicholas) of Freehold, NJ; and two grandchildren, Gregory Brian Jasinski and Erica Louise Jasinski.
There will be a small service for immediate family members only.
