Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 AM Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Good Shepherd Parish in Irvington, New Jersey for Festus Ikhaobome Aleogena, age 69 of Newark, New Jersey who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2015. The Rev. Frank J. Rocchi will officiate and burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM Friday, May 15, 2015 at the funeral home. Arrangements are being made by Union Funeral Home in Union, New Jersey. Festus was born March 29, 1946 in Edo State, Nigeria. A graduate in professional accountancy, Festus Aleogena's life has reflected his faith, love and devotion to his family, his diligence and success. In Nigeria, he worked as a chartered accountant and owned a private accounting firm. He has also been a great mentor to his brothers, family and many friends. In later years, in the United States, due to his hard work, Festus rose to the rank of Controller at Newark Museum in Newark, New Jersey until his retirement. Festus attended Good Shepherd Parish. He was also an active member in the Estako Progressive Union of both New Jersey and New York and became Chief. He is highly respected for his wisdom, intellect and faith in Jesus Christ. Survivors include his wife, Irene and children, Inavoh Valentina, Onosiokene Joy, Imhoitsike Babatunde (and his wife Gretchen), and Itseore; his mother; brothers, Isaac, Pius, Sunday and Monday. He was preceded in death by his father.
