Fiorina Di Genova (nee: Capone), 94 of Jersey City, entered into eternal life on April 13, 2020, at Hackensack University Medical Center. Born October 22, 1925, in Italy, she emigrated to the US in 1958. She worked for many years in the Jersey City Public School system as a cafeteria worker preparing and serving breakfast and lunch for the children. She was an excellent cook and also worked for many years as head of the cafeteria for Holy Rosary Grammar School. Her baked macaroni was legendary among former students. Fiorina was tremendously devoted to Holy Rosary Church, she faithfully attended Italian Mass every Sunday and participated in parish functions. Her gentle, kind & loving demeanor will be sadly missed by all who loved her. She is predeceased by her husband, Ernesto Di Genova. She is the beloved mother of: Enrico (Mary-wife); grandchildren: Caitlin (Chris - husband) and Ella (great grandchild) and Patrick. Mario (Olimpia -wife); grandchildren: Daniele (Katherine- wife) & great grandchildren: Daniela, Leonardo and Francesca; Davide (Kristin - wife) & great grandchildren: Dean and Avery. She is also survived by her brother Ernesto, nieces Carla and Giuliana and grandnieces Francesca and Gabriella. Mausoleum Entombment will take place privately on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington. A Memorial Mass will take place at a later date at Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St., Jersey City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Rosary Church or the American Heart Association.
