Florence "Florie" Gilbert

Florence "Florie" Gilbert (nee: Malloy), 80 of Lafayette, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon, NJ.   Born October 16, 1938 in East Newark, she lived for many years in Bloomfield.  Florie  was a homemaker who enjoyed the simple things in life; fishing, cooking for family, bowling on Friday nights & her game was usually in the 200s! Frogs brought a smile to her face, especially the ones that were quirky. Above all, she enjoyed a good laugh with family & friends and brought life to all our family gatherings!  Florie is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Gilbert (2014) & her siblings; Lois Sembrot & Wallace Malloy.  She is the beloved mother of Sean P. Malloy, cherished sister of Evelyn Dandorph and proud loving Aunt of Isabelle Atwood, Carleen Cupoli, Michael Malloy, Kathleen Baum & Diane Franchino. Visiation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ.   A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m.   Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfiled.
