Florence Jager

Florence Jager, 96, of Denville, formerly of Bloomfield, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Born February 5, 1923 in Bloomfield to the late George & Mary Jager, she lived in Milltown and Nutley for a period before returning to Bloomfield and then retiring to Denville 11 years ago. For 37 years, she was employed with Moran’s Stationary in Bloomfield, retiring in 1978.   Florence loved to travel, whether by train, boat or plane, she frequented Hawaii and the South Seas. She kept many scrapbooks filled with literature and memorabilia from her trips. She also enjoyed fine dining with her friends, from Filet Mignon to White Castle, her culinary palate had no boundaries.    She is predeceased by her siblings, William & Cecilia Jager. She is survived by her lifelong friend, Joyce Mackey Brophy, who called her every day at 5:30 p.m., and her best friends, Dennis and Eileen Scally, Scott Harvin, and Pat Gibbons.     Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Catholic Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.   Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.   (Additional parking can be found on Broughton Avenue)
