Frances Charlotte Frederick

Frances Charlotte Frederick, 97, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2015 in Niskayuna, NY. Born on August 20, 1917 in Bayonne, NJ she was the daughter of the late Charlotte (Kane) and Francis Jenkins Frederick. Other than a few years spent in Chicago as a child and her recent residence in Niskayuna, New York, Fran lived her entire life in Irvington and Union, NJ. After graduating from business school, Frances worked her entire career for Carteret Savings and Loan in NJ retiring as an officer of the bank with over 50 years of service in 1989. She stayed in touch with her bank co-workers and good friends until her final days. Fran will be remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by all those whose lives she touched. She was a devoted care giver to her father during the last years of his life. She travelled extensively around the US with her friend Evelyn Hahn and collected magnets from their trips. Fran enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook preparing many delicious meals over the years and was renowned for her delicious pies. She had wonderful taste in clothing and gave wonderful gifts from her favorite stores, especially Bloomingdales and Lord and Taylor. Always well informed, she could discuss golf or politics but also enjoyed her soap operas on TV. She always played a competitive hand at cards. Francis is survived by her sister, Grace Hoole, nephews and niece, Tom Hoole (Caroline), Jeff Hoole (Nancy), Barbara Ballew (David), and grand-nephews and nieces, Evan Hoole, Tracy Hoole, Renee Ballew, Katherine Hoole, Michael Hoole and Elizabeth Hoole and many friends and adopted family in New York and New Jersey. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7th at the Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn & Lytwyn 1600 Stuyvesant Avenue Union NJ. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 am. A prayer service will be held at 11am followed by burial at Hollywood Memorial Park.
