Frantz Jeudy of Newark, NJ, entered into eternal life on Saturday February 3, 2024 at the age of 58. He was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on June 12, 1965 and emigrated to the United States on December 12, 1970. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York.
Upon his graduation from high school, Frantz joined the United States Air Force, and was stationed overseas, primarily at Clark Air Base, Philippines and Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Frantz began his long and distinguished federal law enforcement career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) as a correctional officer within the Department of Justice on August 28, 1994, continuing his service to the United States as a correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix, Burlington, New Jersey, and then at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City, NY. He then accepted a promotion to the legacy Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) within the Department of Justice on June 18, 2000, at the Varick Street Service Processing Center (SPC) in New York City to become a Deportation Officer.
As a Deportation Officer, Mr. Jeudy was assigned to the Detained Docket Unit and the New York City Fugitive Operations Program until his promotion to Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer (SDDO) on August 31, 2008. As an SDDO, Mr. Jeudy continued to serve on the New York City Fugitive Operations Program as a supervisor until his promotion to Assistant Field Office Director (AFOD) on September 09, 2012. As an AFOD, Mr. Jeudy served in many different roles and responsibilities to include the then Criminal Alien Program, the Non-Detained Unit, and finally Transportation and Removal Operations, all within the ERO New York City Field Office. Frantz retired on December 31, 2021, after serving 27 years and 4 months of dedicated and faithful service as a federal law enforcement officer with the United States Government.
Frantz was resided in Newark NJ for over 30 years, and had many hobbies which included riding his bicycle, and mixed martial arts – he was quite an aficionado of Bruce Lee. Also a history buff, Frantz had a deep and abiding fascination with World War II, and a passion for Black history. He devoted his time to his two children, Shanna-Ree and Quinlan when he wasn’t involved with his hobbies.
Frantz is survived by his parents, mother Merveilleuse Lafalaisa, father Paul Jeudy, Sr. two children daughter Shanna-Ree Jeudy and son Quinlan Jeudy, as well his brothers Paul Jeudy Jr., Ralph Casimir, and sister May Lashley and former spouse Rodelia Jeudy.
The visitation will take place at the Union Funeral Home, Lytwyn & Grillo, 1600 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, NJ, on Saturday February 10, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Prayer Services will take place during the afternoon and evening visitations. Cremation will be private.
