Genevieve "Jean" R. Pilot

Genevieve R. “Jean” Pilot of Bloomfield, N.J. entered into eternal life on Monday March 20, 2023, at the age of 111. She was born and raised in Passaic, N.J. and resided there prior to moving to Bloomfield in 1969.

Genevieve was the daughter of the late Vincent Pilot & the late Agnes (nee Sudol) Pilot and was the last of 6 children. Her deceased siblings were Stasia Shelfer, Edward Pilot, Sr., Josephine Godowski, Helen Struk, and Henry Pilot. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces & great-grandnephews.

She was educated in Holy Rosary Grammar School in Passaic and graduated from Passaic High School. Jean was a dedicated employee, first as a Bookkeeper when she graduated high school, for United Piece and Dye Works until 1936. She then became an Administrative Assistant at Uniroyal in Passaic prior to her retirement in 1974.

An important part of Jean’s life was family and friends. She was a member of a Polish club, Club Polonaise, a group of women who remained friends for decades. She traveled worldwide to Canada, Europe, a visit to Poland, the Caribbean, Hawaii and extensively through the United States.

Genevieve has been an encourager to siblings, nieces, nephews, and all their families. She has cared for both her parents during their elderly years as well as siblings. Her personal sacrifices and dedication to her family have been an inspiration to all.

Visitation will be held at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, on Thursday March 23, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. (additional parking is available on Broughton Avenue). A Funeral Mass will be held in Holy Rosary Church, 6 Wall Street, Passaic at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Saint Nicholas Cemetery, 2 Terrace Avenue, Lodi, N.J.
