George Lubomyr Steciuk

George Steciuk, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Convent Station, New Jersey, passed away on September 4, 2017 at the age of 75. Born on May 22, 1942 in Lviv, Ukraine, George was the son of the late Maria Kvitka Steciuk and Dr. Basil Steciuk. In 1950 George immigrated with his parents to the United States and settled in Jersey City, New Jersey where he attended Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic School and St. Peters Prep. George earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Seton Hall University and Master of Arts degree in International Relations from St. Johns University. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, George was employed as an executive for Prudential Reinsurance Company. George was a member of PLAST Ukrainian Scouting Fraternity "Chervona Kalyna" and Ukrainian- American Veterans, Branch 40 in North Port, Florida. George is survived by his beloved wife Katherine (nee Zahumeny), his son Mark, with wife Ronda and grandsons Noah and Torin, and his son Peter. Visitation will be on Saturday, September, 9, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 60 North Jefferson Rd, Whippany, NJ. with the Funeral Liturgy following at 11:00 a.m. Internment will be at St. Andrew Cemetery, 280 Main St, South Bound Brook, NJ.
