George M Dolinsky

September 5, 1938 — November 25, 2020

George was the beloved husband of Daria, the loving father of Roman and his wife, the late Antoinette and the dear brother of Adrian Dolinsky and his wife, Larissa. George was a 1959 graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After that, he received his Master of Science from Newark College of Engineering in 1966. In 1973 he obtained his Professional Engineer's License followed by his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1979.. He was employed by Public Service in Newark as an electrical engineer for 41 years, retiring in 2003. George was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. George enjoyed playing tennis, was an avid golfer and an expert skier. A master craftsman, he loved spending time in the wood shop designing and building both practical and decorative creations, which to this day, make up most of the family home. He loved being outdoors in nature, no matter what the season. His love of the open water drew him to sailboating for many years. An animal lover, he had a great respect for all creatures. Whatever activities he was involved in, he always included his family. Most recently, he would travel out west to ski with his son, Roman. He loved listening to music, especially classical and opera. He was on the St. John's Ukrainian Church parish council in Newark for many years, working closely with fellow parishioners, parish priests and the Archeparchy of Philadelphia to ensure a solid future for the church he so loved. Never a man to desire the spotlight or attention, he often became the focal point among friends when he started telling his jokes. True to his religious and political convictions, he always respected others' views, and he never ceased to try to find some middle ground where everyone would benefit. He always listened first and spoke second, forging lifelong friendships with anyone who crossed his path. He knew when to stand his ground for what he believed was right, but he also showed a tender, caring and nurturing side which made him the ultimate patriarch of his family. He was also a loyal, faithful husband to Daria for 58 beautiful years, and a hero to his son, Roman for 49 years. He is sorely missed.
