George Massenburg

George Massenburg, 58, of Newark, N.J., passed away on May 28, 2024 at his home. Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. at Union Funeral Home – Lytwyn & Grillo, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, N.J. George Massenburg's life was a testament to the power of joy and laughter. George was a dedicated, affectionate, and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. With his infectious humor and passion for dancing, George radiated warmth and joy, touching the hearts of all he met and leaving a lasting impact. As the Repacking Supervisor for Ruger Chemical and Vantage Chemical, George dedicated 35 years of his life to his work, before retiring.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Shamorin Dunbar-Massenburg, and his children, Shamar(Akira), Makayla(Mer’Rill), Maia, and Jordyn.

George’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were honored to have the privilege of knowing him. In honor of George, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude to continue his mission of spreading hope and positivity.
