Gerald Rothauser of Florham Park, NJ passed away on December 13, 2017, at the age of 89. Born on June 4, 1928 in Newark, NJ, Gerald was the son of the late Jack Rothauser and Elsie Palkowetz Rothauser. In 1954 Gerald began work for Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ where he was employed for 35 years. During his tenure at Bell Labs, Gerald was employed as an engineer where he had the opportunity to work on many important telecommunications programs including the Telstar satellite. Gerald is survived by his sons Gerald (Jerry), Douglas, and Blaine and his sister Claire Tortorella and brother Jeffrey and grandchildren, Dillon Rothauser, Corey Rothauser, Zachary Rothauser and Rachel Rothauser. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 16 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn & Lytwyn, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ followed by a service at 11AM. Interment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ Donations in Gerald's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
