Gertrude Dornevil

Gertrude Dornevil, 73, of East Orange, N.J., passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville, N.J.  Visitation will be on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 103 S. Center St., Orange, N.J. 07050 with a Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Mausoleum entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.  Arrangements are under the direction of Union Funeral Home - Lytwyn & Grillo, 1600 Stuyvesant Avenue, N.J. 07083.  Memories and condolences may be shared at unionfuneralhome.com.

Gertrude Dorceus Dornevil began school in Desdunes, Haiti before continuing school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  She left Haiti in 1980 and then graduated from Wilfred Academy School of Beauty.  She continued to work as a Certified Nursing Aid.  After leaving East Orange, she moved to Randolph to be near her family in 2020.

Predeceased by her parents and brother, Voltaire Dorceus, she is survived by her daughter, Sabine Monrinville, brothers, Pierre Andre Dorceus, Jacques Andre Dorceus, Sadrack Dornevil Dorceus, Virginie Dornevil Dorceus, Wiltha Dorceus, Jean Claude Dorceus, nephews and nieces, Anderson Dorceus, Shabazz Dorceus, Tahisha Dorceus, Nahisha Dorceus Stanley, Stephanie Jeffrey Dorceus, Sagine Christian, Christie Dornevil, sisters-in-law, Michael Angina Mme, Jacques Dorceus, and family.
