Grace Fenty

Grace Edme Haynes Fenty, 83, of S. Orange Ave., South Orange, NJ, passed away Wednesday, June 14, at her daughter’s residence in North Carolina.

She was born September 29, 1939, in Guyana, South America to the late Henry Haynes and the late Rita Ramessar Haynes.

Grace graduated from Nicholson High School and received her Nursing Degree from Georgetown School of Nursing and worked in area Hospitals in New York and New Jersey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jewel Fenty; and brother, McLean Haynes (Phyllis).

Those left to cherish fond memories include her husband, Donald Fenty of the home; two sons Derek Fenty Dey-El (Crystal) of South Orange, NJ, McLean Fenty (Kiana) of Newport News, VA; daughter, Jody Yearwood (Richard) of Concord, NC; five grandchildren, Jala Fenty, Lais Fenty, Yaw Fenty Holman, Lerrah Fenty, Richard Yearwood, IV; siblings, Blanche Haynes, Ralph Haynes (Ruby) both of New Jersey, Claire Jones (Royston) of Canada, Hugh Douglas Haynes of Guyana; cousins reared in the home, Hazel Joseph, Norma Raganauth, Royston Lam; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Union Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Mausoleum Entombment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Union.
