Griselia America Farfan was called home to our Lord on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Born in Lima, Peru on May 12, 1946, to Victor Farfan Sr. and Juana Rosa Farfan, Grace was a unique and caring person who touched the lives of all who knew her.
She married Luis Infantas Sr. in 1965 and raised two loving children: Benardette and Luis Jr., and, later on, her granddaughter Amalia, who was the apple of her eye. She was totally dedicated to her children and every aspect of their lives. She devoted her entire life to her family, which, once Benardette married, included Ted
McEvoy, our brother-in-law and super fan of Grace’s Lomo Saltado dish. Lomo Saltado was one of the many delicious dishes she would cook for her family.
Grace was a hard worker and a standout amongst her peers. She started her career as an Obstetrician at the prestigious Dos De Mayo Hospital in Lima, Peru. Once in the United States, she cleaned apartments for doctors, and one of them helped her get a job at the Hospital For Special Surgery in NYC. She started in the kitchen and worked her way to Central Supply Technician. She worked there for many years until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Farfan and Juana Rosa Farfan; brothers Fernando Victor, Carlos Alberto; and sisters Victoria, Nelly, Aida Esperanza, Mercedes, Vilma, Ivonne, Eduvia, and Guillermina.
Grace is survived by her children, Benardette and Luis, granddaughter Amalia, son-in-law Ted, brother Victor Eduardo, sister-in-law Delia Farfan, and sister Becky Abdel-Gleil, who was also her companion and confidant.
Grace was a very good friend, devoted mother, and hard worker who taught us to be the best we could be. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, caring mother, inspiring grandmother, and exceptional friend. She will be missed.
