Guillermo "Gilly" Mendez

Guillermo Mendez, known as "Gil to some and Gilly to others, 55 entered into eternal life on March 18, 2022. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in New Jersey for the past 17 years. His passion was softball, and he was very good at it. His known number was 57, for 57 Chevy. He loved heights and worked in New York as a scaffold mechanic and window washer. Gil is survived by his children, Lynda, Erick & Nicholas; mother Carmen, brother Sammy, sister Carmen and the love of his life, Diane Hunt along with her children; Krystina, Nicole, Elizabeth and Kristopher. He will be missed dearly by his 10 grandkids, Mikel, Syncia, Madilyn, Erik, Camryn, Aiden, Ayden, Ariele, Ali, Kamil & Maylyn. Always remember for his huge heart, love of freestyle music, great sense of humor and willingness to help anyone in need. Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Union Funeral Home, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083
