Henry J. “Hank” Spada, 86 of Union, entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2021 at his home. Born in Irvington, he lived in Union since 1980. A proud US Army Veteran of the Cold War (1954-1956), Hank was the long-time owner of Spada Sub & Deli in Union. A sports fan at heart, he loved the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Yankees & Giants. In high school he was a great pitcher and known as Hank “Lefty” Spada. He will be remembered as a hardworking man who enjoyed his family and the simple things in life. He is the beloved husband of Julia (nee: Maglio), cherished father of Perry Spada, Vincent (Christine) Spada & Michael (Kathryn) Spada, loving and proud grandfather of Vincent, Samantha, Stephanie, Christopher, Nicholas Henry Spada, Stephen Rossi & Rebecca Rossi, and greatgrandchildren; William & Noelle Rossi. He is also survived by his siblings, Lillian Tobey & Deanna Carr. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at the Union Funeral Home, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ. (Kindly wear face coverings or masks if you are visiting the Funeral Home) . Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, January 4th at 9:15 a.m. at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Michael’s Church, Union at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
