Hedwig Morrow

Hedwig "Hedy" Morrow, 89 of West Orange, formerly of Bloomfield, entered into eternal rest on November 9th. Born in Poland, she came to America when she was 2 years old and the family settled in Jersey City. She was employed with Deluxe Check Printing for many years before she retired. Once retired her and her husband did a lot of traveling, including trips to Hawaii, Hong Kong, the Panama Canal and several Cruises. She had a group of friends who got together every month to play cards, more like dealing cards and taking and catching up with their lives. She loved life and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Once she could no longer live on her own, she moved to Brookdale Assisted Living in West Orange where she enjoyed 5 years. They had daily activities of bingo, word searches, sing along's, movie nights, parties and wonderful dinners. She was an activist in helping to come up with ideas for trips and keeping up with activities to keep the residents young, and she was quite the social butterfly. Although mostly confined to her wheel chair, she made the best of it. When they had their Olympics and activities, she earned the first place in the wheel chair races. She certainly lived life to the fullest. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bloomfield, with interment following at Glendale Cemetery.
