Helen Hrycyshyn, 95, died on Wednesday, December 30 at the Rose Garden Nursing Home in Toms River. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Hrycyshyn, the devoted mother of Richard, Dennis and the late Gerald Hrycyshyn, and their spouses Lorraine, Elizabeth, and Michele, as well as the loving grandmother of Andrea, Heather, Christopher, and Timothy. She was the dear sister of Eugene Zinsky and of the late Annie Adams, Mary Dziubaty, Julie Halas, Nell Jubanowsky, Evelyn Trently, John Zinsky, Joseph Zinsky, and Nicholas Zinsky and his living spouse Dorothy. Born in Olyphant, PA, Helen came to New Jersey in 1945, lived in Newark and Springfield before moving to Toms River. Helen was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church located in Newark, NJ. After moving to Springfield, she became a school crossing guard for 11 years and was also active in the Senior Citizens Group as their treasurer. A memorial service and burial will be held on January 6, 2021 at 11:30AM at St. Cyril's Cemetery in Peckville, PA. Donations in her memory can be sent to St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church.
