Helen Phillips

Phillips, Helen (nee Kadubez) 91, of Irvington, passed away on April 22, 2014. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, April 26 at 8:30 AM from the Union Funeral Home-Lytwyn & Lytwyn, 1600 Stuyvesant Ave., Union with the funeral service at 9:30 AM at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Newark and the interment to follow at Hollywood Cemetery. The visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 PM with the Parastas at 7:30 PM. Helen was the beloved wife of the late John, the devoted mother of Kenneth J. Phillips and his wife Barbara and Beverly A. Jackey and her husband Ronald and the loving grandmother of Erica and Gregory Jackey. She was the dear step grandmother of Lauren Mattiace and step great grandmother of Isabella Finnerty. Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Eva and Michael Kadubez and the sister of the late Ann Kryzwa, Kathryn Kernohan, and Steven, Paul and Mary Kadubez. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Rosary Altar Society of St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church, a 50 year member of the Girl Scouts of America, Irvington Chapter, and the Ladies Auxillary of the American Legion. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society, St. Judes Children's Hospital or to People for Animals.
