Herman Czarnecki Jr

Herman Czarnecki Jr., 93 of Bloomfield, NJ entered into eternal rest on June 15, 2017. Born March 14, 1924 in Bloomfield, to the late Herman, Sr. & Eva (nee: Kalinowski), he was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield. Herman was a 1941 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, NJ. He served in US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a Sergeant in the 74th AAF Base Unit when he received an Honorable Discharge after the war in 1946. He received a B.S. in Psychology from Seton Hall University and a Masters Degree from Fordham University. He worked for many years in personnel management at the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro, NJ. Later, he worked in civil service as CETA director for the Township of Bloomfield and retired as Assistant Town Administrator in 1984. His passions in life were to cook for his family, play golf and try his luck at the racetrack. Solving NYT crossword puzzles kept him sharp. He was the beloved husband of Emma-Lou, cherished father of Carl Thomas & his wife, Cornelia, Janet Jasinski & her husband, Nicholas, proud and loving grandfather of Gregory Brian & Erica Louise Jasinski. He is predeceased by his siblings; Joseph, John & Helen Mulhern. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m., thence to St. Valentine Church for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.Additional parking can be found along Broughton Avenue.
